A man was rescued from the roof of a Chester house over the weekend, police have confirmed.

Cheshire Constabulary said police were called to the property on West Lorne Street on Sunday (19 January) at around 4.43pm.

There had been "reports of concern for the welfare of a man" at the address.

Emergency services attended and firefighters rescued the man from the roof.

He was taken to hospital to be assessed.
