A 54-year-old man has been jailed after breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) in Chester.

Brian Cooper, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to 16 weeks in custody on Wednesday 14 May at Chester Magistrates' Court after admitting breaching the terms of a CBO.

The five-year CBO was originally granted in November 2024, following numerous reports of drug-related behaviour.

The terms stated he was banned from the majority of the Blacon area.

He was also prohibited from entering any property, housing complex, supported living accommodation, care or nursing home provided by the local authority or housing associations, unless with written permission of the manager.

Despite these conditions, on Tuesday 13 May, Cooper entered a property in Blacon without permission.

He was found during a joint visit by members of Chester Police's Beat Management Team and partner agencies.

Inspector Mat Beale, of Chester Local Policing Unit, said: "Cooper has been a plague on the community with drug-related behaviour, and securing the CBO against him was a positive step towards ensuring we could continue to tackle his offending.

"This breach of the CBO has resulted in him spending some time behind bars which is a great result and will hopefully reassure residents in the area that we are committed to doing all we can to crack down on this behaviour.
