Tesco's superstore on Frodsham Street will close for refurbishment early next year.

Starting on January 10, the supermarket will undergo a refit and remain closed until late March.

The on-site pharmacy will be temporarily relocated to a nearby retail unit just outside the store during the works, to ensure customers can still access the service.

Other nearby Tesco stores will remain open as usual, including Chester Sealand Road Superstore and Broughton Chester Extra store.

Once complete, the refurbished building will benefit from improvements to the store's layout, including new fridges, freezers and lighting upgrades.

A spokesperson for Tesco said: "Our Chester Superstore is undergoing a refit to improve the shopping experience for customers, and will be closed during this refurbishment from 10th January until late March.

"We apologise for the inconvenience, and look forward to welcoming customers back after the works are completed."
