The family of a 70-year-old woman who died following a crash in Chester have paid tribute to a "selfless" and "amazing" woman.

Police were called to Parkgate Road, at the junction with Welsh Road, at 11.33pm on Friday 10 July, following a serious collision involving two vehicles - a grey Cupra Born and a black Kia Sportage.

A passenger in the Kia, Carol Tinsley from Liverpool, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paying tribute to Carol, her family said they felt "blessed" to have known her.

They said: "Our family has been shattered and ripped apart with the loss of our beautiful, selfless, amazing Carol, and we were all blessed to be a part of her life.

"We are all truly heartbroken and ask for privacy at this very sad time."

The driver of the Kia and two other passengers suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital, while a fourth passenger suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Cupra was uninjured.

No arrests have been made and enquiries into the collision remain ongoing.
