An egg-free cake shop has arrived in Chester, officially opening its doors today (Friday 21 November).
With over 250 locations across the country, Cake Box, a national franchise, began in 2008 with its founder Sukh Chamdal following a strict lacto-vegetarian diet and seeking alternatives to traditional cake.
Its newest store, based in Boughton, is led by Sivajenani Aravinthan, who also runs a Cake Box in Wrexham.

Ensuring each product sold is "100% egg free", the franchise sells delicious fresh cream celebration cakes made without using eggs.
Popular among those who have certain religious, dietary or lifestyle choices, Cake Box provides an "on demand service", for cakes made in-store for a variety of occasions.
The franchise said: "Our commitment to quality and value means that you will receive a fantastic, delicious product, every time.
"The cakes are so light and fluffy and made to a high end recipe that we still use today. Whilst our cakes are egg free, you really can't taste the difference, which makes them a perfect choice for any occasion."
