A group of colleagues from Chester will walk the 34-mile Sandstone Trail in a single day next month to raise funds for a local children's cancer charity.

The challenge is being undertaken in memory of nine-year-old Freya Jones, the daughter of former BusinessComparison colleague Paul Jones, who died after being treated for a brain tumour.

Children's cancer charity The Joshua Tree provided vital support to the family throughout Freya's illness.

Participants will set off from Frodsham on Friday 25 September, following the sandstone ridge through the heart of Cheshire before finishing in Whitchurch.

It follows a similar fundraising effort in 2025, when colleagues walked more than 30 miles from New Brighton to BusinessComparison's Chester city centre office to support Paul and his family while Freya underwent treatment.

Joining the walk are BusinessComparison founder and managing director Philip Brennan, colleagues Max Solomon, Steph Salusbury, Joe Charlesworth and Younes Chougui, former colleague Paul Jones, and The Joshua Tree chief executive Richard Driffield.

Other members of the Chester-based BusinessComparison team will provide transport, food, drinks and supplies along the route.

The local business hopes to honour Freya's memory and give back to a charity that has provided vital support to the Jones family.

"This year, it's about remembering Freya, recognising a charity that supported them, and giving back.

Based in Sandiway, The Joshua Tree supports children and families affected by childhood cancer by providing practical and emotional support.
