An independent fitness studio in Chester is hosting its second 'danceathon' in aid of Breast Cancer Now.

On Saturday 7 November, Poise on Christleton Road will host a non-stop danceathon for 12 hours, raising much-needed funds for Breast Cancer Now.

As a leading breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now funds life-saving science whilst providing support and resources for people battling cancer.

With a target of £5k set for the event, participants will dance from 9am to 9pm - taking part in dances such as a Ceilidh, line dancing, and "plain old regular kitchen dancing". Poise will also host a charity bake sale all weekend.

"After the success of last year's Danceathon, we decided to do it again this year and dance non stop for 12 hours, all in aid of Breast Cancer Now charity," Owner Alicia Jelley told Nub News.

"We have a group of 9 ladies doing the full 12 hours, with various pop up classes happening throughout the day that anyone can join for a donation!

"We also have a bake sale happening all weekend. Last year we raised over £3.5k so this year we've set a target of £5k."

Poise opened on Christleton Road in May 2024, with the owner wanting to create an inclusive space which fosters a joy of movement, as opposed to creating fear and resentment around exercise.
