Local MP Samantha Dixon will host a coffee morning next month to mark International Women's Day (IWD).

Taking place on Saturday 7 March from 10am–11:30am, the event will feature a special introduction from Isabel of the Women of Chester Tour and Chester Tourist Information Centre, who will highlight some of the remarkable women who have shaped the rich history of the local area.

"I'm really looking forward to this event and hope to see residents there for a cuppa as we mark International Women's Day together," said Samantha Dixon, MP for Chester North and Neston.

"It's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the incredible women who have contributed so much to our community and to reflect on how we can continue to support equality for all."

International Women's Day has been celebrated for more than a century, with this year marking its 115th anniversary.

The global event recognises women's achievements, raises awareness about discrimination, and takes action to advance gender equality.

Residents interested in attending are encouraged to contact the Samantha's office for full location details.

You can email [email protected], or call 01244 343 229.
