Over £1,400 was raised for a Countess of Chester Hospital appeal fund at a recent charity quiz hosted by a local blogger.

The event, organised by Richard Trotter of The Chester Blog and well-known Twitter/X account Sh*t Chester, raised a staggering £1,430 for the Countess Charity's Extra Mile Appeal.

"It was amazing to see so many people coming together to support the Hospital charity," said Richard Trotter.

"It was an extremely busy night with lots going on, thanks to the performers who all gave up their time for free."

A total of 44 teams took part in the quiz, with the event also featuring music and dance performances - including by members of local dance studio, Poise.

Artist Tim Foxon, best known for his famous little red bike, was also on hand to produce quirky 'no look' portraits.

Richard added: "I would like to thank our hosts at The Market as well as my helpers Debbie and Karen.

"Thanks too for all the very generous raffle prizes that were donated by local businesses and individuals. I am really grateful for the support received, with this being the fourth quiz I have hosted.

"I look forward to the next event in early 2026, details of which will be announced soon."

A spokesperson from The Countess Charity added: "We at The Countess Charity would like to say a huge thank you to Richard Trotter and everyone at Chester Market for hosting the Chester Market Charity Quiz in support of our Extra Mile Appeal.
