Officers from Cheshire Police have charged a man with drugs offences following a stop check on the M6.

Peter Wiggins was arrested shortly before 6pm on Tuesday 26 November after officers stopped a silver Vauxhall Astra on the M6 northbound near Stafford Services.

During a search of the car officers recovered a large quantity of cocaine and a knuckle duster.

Wiggins, of Wandsworth Crescent, Blacon, Chester, has since been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine) and possession of an offensive weapon.

The 55-year-old has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court later today, Thursday 28 November.
