Chester Heritage Festival gears up for launch day

Chester Heritage Festival is gearing up for this year's free launch event at Exchange Square and Picturehouse.
Founded in 2015, the annual festival aims to bring Chester's rich past into focus, with a range of events and exhibitions across the city.
Kicking off on 24 May, attendees can expect a varied line-up, including local musicians, a professional bubbleologist and a jester.
Inside Picturehouse, guests will find "Talking Chester" – an engaging series of talks, exclusive films, and Q&A sessions that bring Chester's heritage into sharp focus.
There will also be a Tai Chi workshop - where ancient practices meet modern wellness, alongside workshops for making stained glass and heritage-inspired tiles.
History enthusiasts can enjoy the South Bank History Fair, where local experts will showcase artifacts and stories from Chester's rich past.
Younger guests will also be kept busy with specially curated heritage activities and all activities across the day are completely free.
