Chester services bolsters its electric vehicle infrastructure

Roadchef has announced the expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities at Chester services.
Customers can now find six ultra-rapid charging bays, each offering up to 300kW, on the M56 in Chester - located at junction 14.
The newly installed chargers, equipped with Combined Charging System (CCS) connectors, provide compatibility with a wide range of modern electric vehicles, allowing drivers to recharge quickly and efficiently.
All Shell Recharge points at the site accept contactless payment, provide real-time status updates to popular car charging apps and use 100% renewable energy.
With this installation, Chester services now offer among the fastest charging speeds and one of the largest EV charging infrastructure in Chester.
The site combines multiple charging technologies - including both CCS and Chademo connectors across 20 total charging points, to serve the diverse needs of EV drivers traveling through this location.
Paul Comer, director of EV implementation at Roadchef, said: "The addition of these new EV chargers at Chester highlights our ongoing commitment to supporting sustainable travel and expanding the EV charging network across the UK.
"We're delighted that our partnership with Shell has allowed us to enhance our charging facilities and continue to evolve to meet the needs of the modern motorist."
