Locals and visitors are being encouraged to make the most of everything Chester has to offer this summer whether they are arriving by car, bus, bike or using the Park and Ride service.

The Summer Made Easy campaign, launched by Cheshire West and Chester Council, aims to highlight how easy it is for people to visit Chester no matter how they are travelling to the city.

It is hoped that the campaign will take the stress out of making travel arrangements and help people to enjoy the sunshine while exploring Chester's unique historical attractions, shops and restaurants.

2,200 parking spaces are available at the Park and Ride with regular bus services making it a simple way to access the city.

There are also several Council-operated car parks across Chester including electric vehicle charging points at New Market Parking and the Brook Street car park.

The Council said: "The campaign also promotes active travel, recognising cycling as another easy and enjoyable way to access the city.

"Visitors can take advantage of a comprehensive library of cycling routes into Chester, collated by Chester Cycling Campaign on their website, helping people plan their journey in advance and arrive with confidence.

"New Market Parking in Chester has a dedicated secure Cycle Hub with space for 50 cycles, free e-bike charging and a tool station.

"Anyone wishing to use the Cycle Hub can pay a one-off £10 fee for an access card, available from the car park office within the New Market Parking to the right of the entrance."

Summer Made Easy will run throughout July and August helping people to make the most of their day out in Chester.

The Council's Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Transport and Highways, Councillor Karen Shore said: "Chester is a fantastic place to visit during the summer, whether you're coming for a day out with the family, meeting friends, or exploring the city's rich history.

"Our Summer Made Easy campaign is all about helping people get here with ease, so they can focus on enjoying their day.

"Park and Ride offers a simple and affordable option, especially for families and groups, while our car parks—including those with EV charging—make it easy for visitors to plan their journey in a way that works for them.

"We want everyone to feel welcome and able to make the most of what Chester has to offer this summer."
