A modern take on tradition: Hartys of Chester’s distinctive blue Jaguar fleet
By Guest author 22nd Jul 2026
We're a family-run funeral directors, and from the very beginning we wanted Hartys of Chester to be a modern funeral company with traditional values, whilst still doing things our own way.
We know every person is different, every family is different, and every funeral should feel personal.
So when it came to choosing our fleet, we decided to step away from the traditional black and choose something that we felt was just as dignified, but with its own unique style.
Our galaxy blue Jaguar fleet has quickly become a distinctive part of Hartys of Chester, with families often commenting on the beauty and individuality of the cars
We chose blue because it's elegant, distinctive and a little unexpected. It reflects who we are as a business, respectful of tradition but never afraid to do things differently when it feels right.
The vehicles are only one part of the journey, but they often become part of the memories families take away.
It's lovely to hear someone say, "mum would have loved that," or "dad would have chosen those every time." Those are the moments that matter to us.
We are also proud to offer a wide range of unique hearses including a Rainbow hearse, a motorcycle and sidecar hearse, and a traditional horse-drawn carriage, just to name a few. Every one of them gives families another way to reflect the life, personality and passions of the person they're saying goodbye to.
We're proud to be Chester's only family-run funeral directors, and we believe our role is to listen, offer choices and support families in creating a farewell that feels right for them.
If that means breaking away from tradition a little, then we're more than happy to do just that.
Hartys of Chester is a proud sponsor of Chester Nub News. Support from local organisations such as them helps us keep our local news free and easy-to-read.
