By using clever tech like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels and EV chargers, we're making it cheaper and easier for our customers to reduce their carbon-footprint.About your role:We need Commissioning Electricians to join our team of experienced Field Engineers, supporting our mission to achieve net zero carbon emissions. As part of our team, you'll be at the forefront of renewable energy, installing and commissioning full electrical systems to power air source heat pumps (ASHP) and hot water cylinders. By working with us, you'll directly contribute to a greener future, helping homes and businesses reduce their carbon footprints.Base Salary is £39,797 with uncapped OTE - £43, 776 is a realistic expectation through our fantastic field reward scheme.As a Commissioning Electrician, you will bring your expertise in domestic electrical installations, including rewires, and a deep understanding of regulations, testing, and certification. You'll work alongside a lead installer to power heat pumps and hot water cylinders, ensuring that all electrical systems are correctly installed and commissioned from the mains supply.Here's what we're looking for:
  • City & Guilds 2365 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent), culminating in a Level 3 Technical Certificate including the National Electrotechnical Training (NET) AM2 certificate.
  • Evidence of experience working in the electrical industry, with a particular focus on domestic installations.
  • Up-to-date City & Guilds 2382 - B.S. 7671 IET Wiring Regulations certificate.
  • City & Guilds 2391.52 and testing experience.
  • Proven experience with rewires and the installation of electrical systems within the domestic sector.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical regulations, testing, and certification processes.
  • The ability to work from design and drawings, delivering bespoke electrical solutions for each project.
  • A solution-based approach to problem-solving, ensuring safety and efficiency on every installation.
  • Willingness to travel, work with different teams, and occasionally stay overnight, covering a large geographical area.

Role Overview The HVAC Specialist will play a strategic role in supporting DWP's transition to a more energy-efficient and cost-effective HVAC infrastructure across its extensive estate. This role is central to the department's broader sustainability and Net Zero Carbon goals, contributing to long-term plan-ning, solution design, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead the definition and implementation of HVAC-related processes and standards (includ-ing BMS, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and ancillary equipment) Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager and Service Delivery teams to ensure compli-ance and performance Provide expert technical advice on HVAC specifications, safety, and regulatory standards Maintain and assure HVAC asset registers and support asset management activities Audit project completions and ensure updates to asset and PPM records Monitor HVAC compliance and maintain a live risk register Conduct deep-dive audits and resolve performance issues with supply chain partners Review and validate recommendations from BMS reviews, PPMs, and project works Analyse management information to assess asset performance and identify improvements Support investigations into incidents and escalate risks appropriately Act as subject matter expert for HVAC systems and contribute to policy development Approve changes to PPM schedules and validate technical solutions and cost estimates Provide technical support to Capital and Major Projects Drive innovation and best practices aligned with sustainability goals Deputise for the Asset Intelligence Manager when required Essential Skills & Experience Extensive experience with HVAC systems in large estates Strong understanding of HVAC legislation, safety, and compliance standards Expertise in asset management and PPM schedules (e.g., SFG20) Experience in facilities management, technical security, and compliance Proven ability to influence stakeholders and resolve complex technical issues Familiarity with CAFM systems and cost-effective compliance solutions Strong communication and leadership skills Experience operating at a senior level, providing guidance and mentorship Desirable Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office HNC/HND in HVAC Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent experience) NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) Degree in Building Services, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering Chartered Membership of a relevant institution (e.g., IMechE or CIBSE)JBRP1_UKTJ
