Job Description: Production Supervisor

Department: Production

Reporting to: Shift Manager

Location: Chester

Salary: £13.75 per hour, paid weekly (approx. £30k pa)

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 2 off

Start time: 5:00 PM

Finish time: 3:00 AM (flexibility required for occasional extension to 4:30 AM)

Holidays: 28 days per year

Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Production Supervisor to oversee our Client s production team. You will be responsible for ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and promoting a safe and efficient working environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, flexibility, and the ability to motivate and develop a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Efficiency:

  • Ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maximize the use of departmental resources (machinery, labour, and materials) to meet productivity targets.
  • Monitor and track employee performance on an hourly basis to ensure company KPIs are achieved.
  • Identify and promptly report any production issues to the Shift Manager.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Motivate and support staff by providing regular feedback and recognition.
  • Foster strong working relationships and effective communication between staff and management.
  • Identify and oversee team training needs, ensuring continuous development.
  • Ensure staff adhere to company policies, health & safety regulations, and COSHH guidelines.

Quality & Maintenance:

  • Ensure all products meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Keep accurate records of employee performance, development, and productivity.
  • Notify the engineering team and Shift Manager of any machinery issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and secure work environment.

Health & Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce the company s health and safety policy at all times.
  • Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling aids.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and terms of employment.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding company and customer information.

Other Duties:

  • Carry out any additional tasks as required by management.
  • Attend relevant training courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
