A leading civil engineering and tunnelling contractor is looking to appoint experienced Project Engineers to support the successful delivery of multiple infrastructure projects across the North West and North Wales region. With a proven track record in complex civil works including microtunnelling, shaft sinking, auger boring, cross passages and streetworks, this contractor delivers high-quality solutions across a wide range of specialist services.

This is a fantastic opportunity for engineers looking to join a technically driven, safety-led business delivering nationally significant infrastructure schemes. The Site hours will be 7-7 and it can be CIS or PAYE general location of works runs from Stanlow to Deeside to Flint.

Project Engineer Job Overview
  • Lead on technical delivery of site-based civils and tunnelling works.
  • Coordinate site teams to ensure works are executed in line with project specifications, timelines and safety standards.
  • Oversee the engineering aspects of microtunnelling, shaft construction, streetworks, and groundworks.
  • Review project documentation and ensure accurate implementation on site.
  • Monitor progress, quality and safety across daily operations, escalating issues as required.
  • Work closely with the site and commercial teams to ensure alignment on programme and resources.
  • Participate in planning meetings and contribute to project delivery strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and as-built data in line with client and regulatory requirements.

Project Engineer Job Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Project Engineer or Site Engineer role on civil engineering or tunnelling projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of underground construction methods including shafts, cross passages, and trenchless techniques.
  • Proven ability to manage technical, quality, and HSE compliance on complex sites.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Valid CSCS card and relevant engineering qualifications.
  • Flexibility to work on sites across the Stanlow-Deeside-Flint corridor.
