Graduate Renewable Energy Consultant

Full time, permanent, starting salary £25k with a fast-track progression opportunity.

Location: Chester. Hybrid working: home, office and customer sites. A driving licence is required.

We have an exciting opportunity to join a small but growing business who specialise in the design, sales, installation, and maintenance of renewable energy systems including air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, solar panels and battery storage. This is a great opportunity for a graduate to gain real hands-on experience and to learn all areas of the business, working closely with the Director in a growth sector. Once fully trained, you ll be given the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and to be instrumental in the company s growth whilst progressing your career.

About you:

  • Intelligent and enthusiastic with a desire to learn and improve.
  • Ready to roll up your sleeves and take a hands-on approach to supporting in all areas of a small business operation.
  • A Graduate, preferably within a relevant field i.e. renewable energy, construction / engineering / design, maths, business / project management.
  • Excellent numeracy, IT and communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to take initiative.
  • Any working experience within process / project management, construction or renewables would be highly advantageous, but not essential.
  • An interest in renewable energy and decarbonisation.

Graduate Renewable Energy Consultant - The role:

  • Working under the guidance of the Director to document processes and procedures for the different activities they undertake
  • Capturing new customer enquiries, understanding customer's objectives for getting in touch and helping with consultations
  • Working with the Director on project designs and preparing and issuing customer quotations, following initial consultation
  • Lodging applications with the District Network Operator (DNO) for permission to install solar & battery inverters, heat pumps & EV chargers
  • Lodging applications to Ofgem for grant funding via the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, where applicable
  • Joining the Director and/ or Engineers for onsite surveys, ensuring survey forms are completed
  • Accompanying the heating and/or electrical engineers onsite to lend a hand and ensure commissioning forms are complete
  • Compiling project closure documentation including DNO notifications, Ofgem redemptions and Building Control notifications
  • Preparing and distributing project handover packs including warranty registrations, user manuals and insurance certificates
  • Joining the Director and/or Engineers for system handovers to new customers
  • Contacting customers to capture any teething issues or project feedback
  • Streamlining the project processes through the application of information technologies such as Al, workflow tools and online forms
  • Developing the company website and social media presence

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Engineer to join the Wing Analysis Engineering Team working with the Plant Engineering Team (PET) and A400M team based in Broughton, UK. If successful, you would be located alongside the Broughton wing assembly lines manufacturing Single Aisle, Long Range and A350 wings, and so have the fantastic opportunity to see the physical product every day. The Airbus Broughton plant provides the wings for around half of all aircraft deliveries across the world each year. You would be working alongside a friendly team of Structural Engineers who are a mixture of technical specialists and engineering leads who are all passionate about finding technical solutions to support AIRBUS Wing products. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM Working as part of the cross programme F&DT team addressing issues related to the main wingbox, fixed leading edge and trailing edge structures and control surfaces (moveable's) on the outer wing that come from the plant. Performing F&DT analysis of composite and metallic aircraft structures using standard fatigue, crack growth and residual strength calculations. Defining, scoping and providing technical governance to F&DT packages that have been sent to suppliers. Assessing and developing design solutions using standard hand and computer methods. Liaising with the methods and data group in order to ensure that methods, assumptions, data and procedures reflect on-going developments. Supporting the Chief Engineers Office in product development tasks and in-service issues. Supporting the Non-Conformance teams (SA, LR & A350) with technical advice and in certain circumstances providing technical solutions to particularly complex repairs. Supporting production with cost/time reduction initiatives. ABOUT YOU Hold or be very close to holding approval signatory in F&DT analysis Degree in Engineering with Structural Analysis Background / Modules. Knowledge and experience of metallic and composite structures with emphasis on structural analysis in Static and/or Fatigue & Damage Tolerance. Good understanding and ability to analyse and independently solve technical problems. Interest in developing digital solutions associated with engineering activities.
