CAD TECHNICIAN / SENIOR CAD TECHNICIAN

Our client a market leader in Manufacturing and roofing products are looking to recruit a CAD Technician to join their already busy Design team.

Objectives of position

Preparing general arrangement drawings and production packs, ensuring your designs are communicated and understood by customers, the factory and installation teams.Working closely with the Planning department to achieve an overall successful installation.

Being able to plan your own work load, running multiple projects at any given period whilst maintaining internal and external deadlines.

Main duties/Responsibilities/Competencies

  • Design and prepare detailed (CAD) general arrangement drawings including plans, elevations and section drawings, and or scale drawings for complex projects, survey measurements, sketches, and specifications.
  • Interface with other departments to assist with the flow of work from sales, planning, factory, delivery and installation.
  • Prepare electronic (CAD) fabrication drawings, cutting lists, material schedules/allocations, packing lists and paint schedules (Excel).
  • Prepare basic requirements on structural design for assessment by structural engineer.
  • Liaise with customers to obtain and agree details.
  • Prepare design risk assessments and work package plans (RAMS).
  • Chair pre site meetings with the installation teams to discuss your designs helping the installation process.
  • Process any snagging items.
  • Provide any sales drawings requested to help win new projects.
  • Preparation of as built drawings for inclusion in O&Ms.
  • Must be exact in their work

Competencies:

  • AutoCAD highly experience user
  • AutoDesk Inventor not essential but would be beneficial for future system development
  • Microsoft Word light use
  • Excel
  • Sage Inputting only (training will be given)
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Awarness of CDM and other mandatory regulations
