Enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants are required for a brilliant PMLD (Profound & Multiple Learning Disability) School in the heart of Chester. This role is to start at the beginning of September after the summer holidays. This school supports young people with various needs including those with severe learning disabilities & mobility issues, aged between 2-19 across 2x sites. You will be required to support children with PMLD on a 1-1 basis and administer personal care. This role is initially temporary, however successful candidates will be brought on permanently by the school. The ideal candidate will need to be resilient, as due to the complex needs of the young people they can exhibit very challenging behaviour. The staff and SLT are all really passionate about supporting these young people, and the focus is a fun and safe environment for the kids. This is not a school that provides a traditional structured education, with lessons being tailored to the needs of each class and a big focus on sensory support and development. You will also be working alongside medical staff in certain classrooms, who are there to provide care for students with complex medical needs. Experience within education (teacher, teaching assistant etc) is not mandatory, and the school are particularly interested in those with experience in the care sector. You must be comfortable with personal care, and have a knowledge and understanding around autism and complex needs. Position Details:

Experience, Training & Qualifications:
- Personal or professional experience supporting complex needs
- Up to date Safeguarding certificate within the last year (desired but training can be provided)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
