Axon Moore are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic business based just outside Chester to recruit a Management Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation with a genuinely supportive and friendly finance team. The role offers broad exposure across the month-end process and management accounts function, making it ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on and working as part of a collaborative team environment.

The RoleReporting into their Head of Finance, you will take ownership of key month-end activities while supporting the wider finance function as needed.

Duties will include:

• Preparing and posting journals
• Managing accruals and prepayments
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Taking ownership of month-end processes
• Assisting with management accounts preparation
• Maintaining accuracy and integrity of financial records
• Supporting purchase and sales ledger activities when required
• Investigating and resolving financial discrepancies
• Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure reporting deadlines are met
• Providing ad hoc finance support as required

About YouTo be considered, you will need:

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role
• Hands-on experience with month-end accounting processes
• Strong knowledge of accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Good Excel skills and attention to detail
• A proactive and team-oriented approach
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment
