Michael Page are partnering exclusively with a dynamic and mission-driven organisation in Chester who are looking for a confident and capable Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations while helping drive process improvements and contribute to broader commercial reporting.

Client Details

This is an ideal role for someone who has solid management accounting experience and is now looking to take ownership of the full P&L, balance sheet and cash flow processes. You'll report directly to a supportive and commercially engaged leader, with plenty of exposure to senior stakeholders across the business.

You'll also lead and develop two team members so experience mentoring or managing junior finance staff will be highly valued-even if informal.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Finance Manager include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts with commentary
  • Full ownership of the balance sheet and revenue recognition
  • Weekly MI reporting and profitability analysis
  • Supporting year-end audit and statutory requirements
  • Managing and mentoring a small finance team
  • Cash flow forecasting, accruals, prepayments and journal postings
  • Collaborating across the business, including sales and ops teams
  • Continuous improvement of processes, systems and controls
  • Working on ad-hoc projects and supporting wider FP&A initiatives

Profile

The successful Finance Manager should have:

  • Solid experience in management accounting, especially around revenue and cost of sales
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic modelling)
  • Experience producing management accounts from end to end
  • An open, collaborative style - someone who builds relationships easily
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring junior team members (preferred)
  • A proactive, "hands-on" mindset with a strong sense of ownership
  • Part-qualified (study support available), or QBE with the right experience
