Shift Maintenance Engineer (Near Chester)
42k - 44k plus overtime
About the Role:
Join a leading packaging design and innovation company at their foodservice packaging site near Chester. We're looking for a skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team and help keep our production machinery running smoothly.
Job Purpose:
- Maintain and repair production machinery to high standards, ensuring minimal interruptions and breakdowns.
- Maintain comprehensive maintenance and service records.
- Devise, fabricate, and install improvements to production machines.
Responsibilities:
- Perform planned maintenance on plant and equipment.
- Respond to production machine breakdowns.
- Install and relocate production equipment.
- Specify and order spare parts.
- Complete maintenance records and required paperwork.
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Conduct mechanical and pneumatic fault finding.
- Record daily activities and liaise with other departments.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to read mechanical drawings.
- Strong mechanical skills, with at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Electrical knowledge preferred but not essential.
- Experience in a high-speed, high-pressure production environment.
- City & Guilds qualification or equivalent.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Highly responsible, conscientious, and reliable.
- Good communicator with a strong work ethic.
- Flexible, able to prioritize effectively and adapt to variable workloads.
- Punctual, presentable, and with good attendance.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments, able to manage time effectively and multitask.
- Proactive with a can-do attitude.
Work Hours:
40 hours per week, rotating shifts including early, afternoon, and night shifts.
